A great article about the journey that ebay have been on to improve gender balance in their organisation. John Donahoe the CEO was the main driver behind the effort.

They took an approach that they would have to "meet everyone where they are at on the journey"

Here are some of the goals that the top 170 leaders signed upto. 

  • All leadership positions should have a diverse slate of candidates and interviewers
  • Top-talent women, at every level, should have career-devlopment plans and discuss them with theor line managers.
  • Leaders should monitor the diveristy of their promotion pipelines to ensure fairness.
  • Each senior vice president and vice president should help to develop top-talent women by mentoring and sponsoring five of them.
  • The company would continue to measure progress on our demographics regularly.
